On March 16 and 17, Rugby NY will be holding a player camp at the Sportsplex of Halfmoon, 6 Corporate Drive, Halfmoon, NY. Camp on Friday runs from 6 to 9 pm and Saturday 2:30 to 9:30 pm. The camp will be led by Luke Gross, USA Rugby Men’s and Women’s National Team Assistant Coach and Melanie Denham, USA Rugby Women’s National Team member. Luke Gross is currently the High Performance Manager and Specialist Coach for USA Rugby. He brings the experience of 12 years of professional rugby, playing in the United Kingdom and Italy. He has played for the USA Rugby Men’s National Team 62 times, including the 1999, 2003 and 2007 World Cups. Melanie Denham played in the 2010 Women’s Rugby World Cup and is the forwards coach for Radcliffe College. She also plays for Beantown Rugby in Boston. The camp is for high school age players of all levels of experience, including those new to the sport. The Women's team will be holding their pre-season meeting on Monday, March 5 at 6:30 at the Victory Cafe. All players, new and old, are welcome. Captains and team positions will be elected and the upcoming season schedule will be discussed. Two Meet and Greets for new players are also coming up, see the previous announcement.
