Tournament Rules
Rule 1. 7 v 7 Rule 2. Offensive teams are given 5 phases of opportunity to score a try Rule 2a. If the Offensive team does not score within 5 attempts it will be a turnover ball at the spot of the last touch. Rule 2b. When a try is awarded the team that scored the point will be awarded 1 point. Rule 2c. No conversion attempts Rule 3. No Kicking to advance the ball is allowed. Rule 3a. Any type of kicking will be called as a penalty at the spot of the kick. Rule 4. The team that was scored against will receive the ball at the restart Rule 4a. Restarts will occur by the team that was scored against by either releasing the ball from your hands completely, tapping it with your foot, and catching it cleanly. Or by placing the ball on the ground, tapping it with your foot, and picking the ball up cleanly. From 5 meters out their try zone. The ref must acknowledge both teams are ready before allowing the game to continue. Rule 5. When a player is touched the touched player must stop and immediately put the ball between their legs to produce the next phase. Rule 6. When a player is touched the entire defense must retreat 5 meters before defending the next phase Rule 6a. If the entire defense is not 5 meters the referee will call an advantage and the offensive team will receive a new 5 phases at the spot of the penalty. Rule 7. Teams are allowed Unlimited Substitutions. Rule 7a. Substitutions can only go on when a Dead ball occurs. Play will not resume until substitutions are confirmed. Rule 7b. Substitutions must confirm with the referee who they are going in for. Rule 8. If the Ball hits the floor it will be considered a Turnover ball regardless of it being a backward pass. Rule 8a. Ref will mark the spot of the Turnover ball. At this spot the new offensive team may quick tap to restart and continue the game. Rule 8b. Restarts on turnovers will only occur by either releasing the ball from your hands completely, tapping it with your foot, and catching it cleanly. Or by placing the ball on the ground, tapping it with your foot, and picking the ball up cleanly. Rule 9. The entire defense must retreat 5 meters at each restart. Rule 9a. If the entire defense is not 5 meters the referee will call an advantage and the offensive team will receive a new 5 phases at the spot of the penalty. Rule 9b. Play will continue at the spot of a penalty by either releasing the ball from your hands completely, tapping it with your foot, and catching it cleanly. Or by placing the ball on the ground, tapping it with your foot, and picking the ball up cleanly Rule 10.If a player runs or steps out of bounds on his/her own terms it will be a turnover ball. Rule 10a. At the spot where the opposing player stepped out of bounds the new offensive team may play a quick lineout or quick tap 5 meters from the touch line where the opposing team player stepped out of bounds. Rule 10b. The new defense must retreat 5 meters before advancing to defend. Rule 11. Scrum halves (any player that picks up the ball from the ruck) if touched before distributing the ball will be an automatic loss of downs and turnover ball from the spot of the touch Rule 11a. Scrum halves (any player that picks up the ball from the ruck) cannot score they must distribute the ball once before a try can be awarded. Rule 12. No Cleats... Turf Shoes or Sneakers Only Rule 13. Teams can be Men Only, Women Only, or Mixed. There is no quota to having a specific amount of the opposite sex on the team.
