The AKRFC fields a competitive division I women's rugby team, the Sirens. The team is 30 members strong allowing us to field both an A and B side. In 2010, the A side won the DII National Championship in Mesa, AZ and moved up to division I in Fall 2011. The spring season consists of indoor training and touch rugby and outdoor practice begins when the winter-weather lets up, usually in March. The club fields a sevens side over the summer for those who love 7s! The fall is our competitive league season that begins at the end of August/beginning of September and runs through October. The Sirens play five league games within the New England region. The New England Rugby Football Union organizes the games and sends the top two teams to playoffs. The winner of playoffs precedes to the national games hosted by USA Rugby.
